Hi! My name is Nik, but scientists around the world call me Pithecophaga jefferyi and I am one of the few hundreds of Philippine Eagles remaining in the Philippines. Our kind has been greatly affected by the human cause. I’m from the island of Mindanao; there are only four islands in the Philippines with my kind. Specifically, I live in mid-elevated forests, at the top of the trees in the steeper areas of these forests. I am more of a solitary animal, because I usually do not stay with a group. I prefer to be by myself, alone. |
